Augmented Reality
This page brings together a series of projects exploring augmented reality (AR) as a tool for fashion, performance, and real-time interaction—positioning AR not simply as a visual layer, but as a medium for embodiment, participation, and live experience.
As part of this work, Costas Kazantzis is a member of the Snap Lens Network, contributing to the development of AR experiences across creative industries. In collaboration with Snapchat and Vogue, a workshop was hosted during London Fashion Week, introducing designers and creatives to Lens Studio and its applications within fashion.
One strand of this work focuses on virtual try-on experiences, using photogrammetry to digitise physical garments and seamlessly integrate them into AR. This approach allows users to interact with fashion in real time, bridging physical materiality with digital accessibility.
Expanding beyond personal devices, AR has also been explored within live performance contexts. For Marina Satti’s Summer 2024 tour, custom AR fashion experiences were designed and programmed, enabling real-time interaction during performances. Audiences engaged with AR filters that were captured live and projected onto stage screens, creating a dynamic feedback loop between performer, audience, and digital content.
Across these projects, AR becomes a shared, performative space—extending fashion beyond the body into networked, participatory environments that evolve in real time.
