Unlocked: Fashion Innovation Agency x Microsoft
“How fashion moves forward” is an immersive mixed reality project developed in collaboration with Microsoft, exploring how fashion can exist across physical and digital dimensions simultaneously.
Building on the Fashion Innovation Agency’s research into emerging technologies—including 3D photography, avatar creation, 3D video, mixed reality, and artificial intelligence—the project demonstrates how these tools can fundamentally reshape the way fashion is created, communicated, and experienced.
Using Microsoft HoloLens, the experience augments physical garments with dynamic digital layers, transforming them into interactive, narrative-driven objects. Visitors engage with fashion not as static display, but as a living system—enriched with contextual information, spatial storytelling, and responsive visual elements.
By merging physical and digital environments, the project proposes new models for retail and exhibition—where accessibility, immersion, and interaction are central. It envisions a future where fashion and technology seamlessly intertwine, enabling creators to build more inclusive, expressive, and expansive worlds.
Led by Costas Kazantzis, the project highlights how immersive tech can unlock new possibilities for the industry—positioning the digital world not as a separate realm, but as an extension of lived, embodied experience.
